  • Sony Vegas Rendering Issue With Fraps

Posted by Rina Davis on February 2, 2020 at 5:25 am

I just changed hard drives, and Sony Vegas worked fine for me beforehand.
I use Fraps to record gameplay, and the K-Lite Codec Pack to make Sony Vegas see the .avi files as always.
However, while the raw videos are perfectly fine, my renders are not now. Everything is horribly pixelated. I have disable resample on too.
I even ran the MediaInfo tool to make sure my files were matching the project properties and render settings.

    MediaInfo:
    1600×900, 60 FPS

Sounds like a mess. Why is your Render at 29xx and everything else is 60? Why?

Yeah, Sony Vegas and codec problems usually are.
Not sure. It defaulted to that. I changed it. Same issue.

I just tried to record with the built in game bar with Windows 10 and the same rendering issue happened with Sony Vegas. The very beginning of each clip came out very pixelated.
Fraps is also saving new recordings with sound only (tried multiple browsers). :\

    Hi Rina

K-Lite is notorious for creating problems with editing software. If Make sure after you delete it that nothing is left behind, including in the registry.

    Cheers !

The problem is I don’t have a codec working. New install. I always used K-Lite no problem. If I don’t use that, I need to use something else that is a codec package.
