Why is it whenever I render a video, at 50% it’s rendered the whole video (you can see on the preview window) and then it just renders it again, doubling the render time! Why is it doing this? I’m rendering a HD 720p Main Concept AVC/AAC (.mp4) clip with 10MBPS two-pass and deblocking filter enabled, 25fps…

Also, whenever I try and import files like .mov or a quicktime related file…it says that quicktime may be broken – i’ve reinstalled, cleaned the registry then installed again but still it doesn’t work, maybe thats causing the double render?

Because that’s what two-pass does. It makes two passes over the entire video. Once to calculate bit-rates and a second time to do the actual render.

I’m saw the end of my project being rendered in a uncompressed .mov file in the preview window. Then the preview when black but it still has 20% to go on the render time. That last 20% moves at a snales pace at about 2% in the last hour and a half.
The really bad news is that I haven’t been able to get through it yet as it keeps crashing. I’ve tried 4 times now and all I end up with is an “error occurred” message.
