  • Sony Vegas Pro interferes with optical DVDROM / CDROM drive

This happens to me all of the time, with both Vegas 9 and Vegas 10.

It seems like the software is constantly looking at my optical drives.

If I try to copy files off a disc, or burn a disc, using another app while Vegas is open, the drive goes nuts as it gets simultaneous instructions from both apps.

Burns and rips both fail, and Vegas locks up (while still playing its audio) until I physically unplug the external optical drive and plug it back in. Then Vegas comes back to life and works fine.

I rarely to never use Vegas to read OR write optical media. I’d be fine with turning off its optical controls entirely. Any hope?

    Thanks!
