Yes, I know that from your previous post. I asked what codec do they use? You can download a free utility called GSpot and open the AVI file with it and it will tell you which codec it uses and if you have that codec installed, and even do a render test. AVI files can contain any number of codecs and some are not compatible with Vegas.

June 29, 2009 at 6:24 amThe codec is XviD, the name says XviD ISO MPEG-4. It says I have the codec installed.

And therein lies your problem.
XviD is a codec that Vegas really doesn’t like.
You’ll need to use an app like Super© (search this forum as it’s been discussed a lot) to convert it to a Vegas-friendly format. -

June 30, 2009 at 7:09 amI’ve gone through about every codec, with the output container being a .avi file, .WAV audio, and now when I play them in the timeline they still play fine, but this time in the render, the video is there but the audio is missing. What format does my video need to be in to fix this?

June 30, 2009 at 7:52 pmI would try making a DV Video AVI file with PCM wave audio.
