  • Sony Vegas Pro 13 doesn’t open a file I worked on

    Help !!!!!!!!!!!……………………

I work on a music video clip. The other day I saved it and backup-ed it (as always) before closing down. The next day it DIDN’T open, not even the backup file, and NOT even the “veg.bak” file !!!!!
It says “Error opening… file corrupted or unknown” !

    Supplementary information:
=> I didn’t do ANYTHING else, I just finished my work in the evening, saved the file, backed it up and closed my computer.
The next day when opening the file it gave me the error message.
=> I uninstalled and reinstalled Vegas Pro 13, the problem remains.
=> I re-started my computer in ‘Safe mode’ and tried to open my file from there but… nope! Only, it gave me a supplementary error message:
    Error Unsupported OpenGL version!
HitFilm plug-in requires OpenGL 2.0 or above and GLSL 1.2 or above.
The current versions used are OpenGL 1.1 and GLSL 0.0

But in ‘Safe mode’ most things don’t run, right?…
=> I remember in my work the last time I used that HitFilm plug-in (which is inside Vegas Pro) for one of my images. And in Safe mode it gave the Error message about HitFilm exactly.
=> I removed the HitFilm plug-in folder (HitFilmVegasBasic.ofx.bundle) and tried again to open my file but nope… still the same “error” message. (There’s no way to tell Vegas to skip it when installing or to uninstall it after).
=> I must recognize I run a “pirate” version I took from someone. I’m a musician not a video pro, I just sometimes do my own music video clips. So if the “pirate” is a problem, I should possibly buy the original software. But will the original open the file that the “pirate” takes as “corrupted/unknown”??
    => My system:
    CPU: Amd FX-8350 8-Core 4.0GHz AM3+ 16MB Cache
    RAM: G.Skill DDR3 8GB PC 1866 CL9 G.Skill KIT (2x4GB)
    Graph.: Gigabyte Radeon GV-R726XWF2-2GD PCI

I’m really anxious, as it is the work of 3 weeks and I have no way to restore everything I did with images, choices, combinations, transitions etc. Describing it all in a file would become a whole book… so I’m really in a trouble.

Could anyone give a suggestion? A picture of the message is attached.

Try to uninstall it and install the official trial version.

I already had tried in the past the trial version, so now it says I can’t have it anymore.

I didn’t take note about the “pirate” bit.

    I’m done.
