as soon as i enable a drop shadow on a TEXT&TITLE media generator it will cause
sony vegas to go bananas , hog the cpu up to 90% until its restarted.
It also seems to damage the whole project because after i removed the shadows even though
everything rendered fine and smooth in the preview again…the rendered movie file will
    have severe fps issues.
I have a core i7 ivy bridge mobile cpu , inkl. intel hd 4000 and GTX 680 M optimus setup
16 gb ram , SSD system and usb 3 ssd storage.
Currently its set to use the INTEL gpu and for rendering i use Quicksync.
IT doesnt matter if i change to the CUDA GPU. The bug will occur on both.
    All drivers are recent.

Are you using cracked software? Sometimes hackers put the triggers on the most common functionality.

Drop shadow will add a lot of overhead during timeline playback, but not continue when the timeline is at rest.

Title and Text has been found to have incorrect FONT display issues. It’s been reported many times. I can only think that along with a control, here the drop shadow option, that this is giving VP grief too.

Please report it to SCS along with the VEG and your steps to repro. I’ll also give it a go. But I have to say I have more or less avoided T&T and either use Sony Legacy Text or NewBlue’s TitlerPro3. I don’t need grief when I’m doing something as straightforward as creating a text plate!

I can’t repro, but that could be because I’m running the previous Build and that this bug has run into the other one I spoke about and this is needing further repair. Even more reason for you to contact SCS.

Sounds like Steve can’t repro in B444.
