[Stephen Mann] “I right-click the audio event on track B and drop it on the audio event for track A, and the only options are Copy or Move.”

This doesn’t work between events. The behavior is adding “media” as a “take”. You cannot add an “event” as a “take” so dragging an event over another event won’t work, which is why it must be from the explorer where the media lives.

Well, I was just trying your directions…(vbg)

Re-read what you said and let me know what I got wrong.

[Stephen Mann] “Re-read what you said and let me know what I got wrong.”

    I said:

Right-click and drag the audio file you want to add as a take and drop it on the selected audio event

An audio file is not an event so I don’t see where I explained it wrong. Events are things on the timeline. Files are thing in the file system. What confused you?

    OK-got it.
I missed the “file” in this line:

Right-click and drag the audio file you want to add as a take and drop it on the selected audio event

So, your instructions are correct – I was reading too fast.

BTW – your solution does work from Windows Explorer as well.

[Stephen Mann] “So, your instructions are correct – I was reading too fast.”

Don’t feel bad I do that all the time.

[Stephen Mann] “BTW – your solution does work from Windows Explorer as well.”

Glad to hear that. I wasn’t sure and I couldn’t test it because I was running Vegas Pro on my Mac in Unity mode under Fusion so I didn’t have a “windows explorer” to test with. 😉

You should probably start a new post and explain step by step what your problem is. I really can’t understand what you are asking from that one sentence.
