Sony Vegas Pro 12 Rendering Templates
I’ve been using Vegas Pro for quite some time and I’ve just came across a big problem..I finished another video today, wanted to render it but saw all my templates went missing. Checked the template folder in App Data/Roaming and it was empty. Decided to reinstall the program but that didn’t help as the folder is still empty. Could anyone upload a few templates online so I could download them since the program is pretty much useless for me right now.

Are you saying the the internal templates are missing? They aren’t kept in a folder anywhere so it would be impossible for anyone to upload them for you. They are internal to Vegas Pro and only the templates that you create yourself show up in the folders.
Your PC is really messed up if you just re-installed Vegas Pro and you don’t have any templates at all. Do you have any codec-paks like K-Lite installed? That could mess up Vegas rendering.

Well basically the templates should be stored in usually C:\Users\(user name)\App Data\Roaming\Sony\Render Templates
But my folder there is empty. I do have K-Lite Codec pack installed, you think that’s the problem? I’ll uninstall the pack and reinstall Sony Vegas and I’ll see if anything changes -

No. Only templates that you created will be stored there. The regular Sony render templates that come with Vegas Pro are not stored anywhere. They are built into the program so that folder would be empty for a new installation.

Yea, there is no telling what damage installing codec-paks will do and they don’t always uninstall cleanly. I would uninstall any codec-paks. Uninstall Vegas Pro. Reboot your computer. Re-install Vegas Pro. Say a prayer to whatever deity you believe in, (it can’t hurt) and restart Vegas Pro.
If that doesn’t work you may have to re-install Windows to get Vegas Pro working again and don’t ever install a codec-pak on a video editing computer. They overlay the codecs that Vegas ships with which is probably why Vegas can’t find any of it’s templates… because it can’t find any of it’s codecs!

Make sure the render as filter options are all cleared.

I’ve uninstalled my K-Lite Coded Pack, uninstalled Sony Vegas, restarted my computer, installed Sony Vegas again and I still can’t render. Whenever I try to do it, it says “No matching render templates found”. I suppose I’ll have to try and reinstall my operating system..

There is a check-box that filters the list to only templates that match your project. Is that checked? If so, uncheck it.

I’ve tried both, nothing happens. And as I said even the folder where the render templates should be is empty. We’ll see if reinstalling my operating system solves anything

Guess your post helped, wanted to do a screenshot and voila render templates are working 😀 Still not sure what was the problem but everything works now 🙂 Might be the K-Lite Codec Pack, who knows. Thanks a lot for your help
