I’ve tried both 3d Source Alpha and Deform to tilt two video clips (overlapped pip style) and it makes my videos go from 1:1 to taking almost 3 to 4 times as long. Is there anything similar plugin wise that can speed this up? I was even thinking about running the background clip through Avisynth first so it would be “pre-tilted” and then having sony vegas pro 12 finish the pip but I couldn’t find a way to make avisynth tilt perspective like and even testing a 5 min clip with a single video deformed, either or, it still hit 3x as long.

I’m running a core i7 2600k and I pieced a small 5 min project together, my regular project size is one hour. Everything can render 1:1 or faster even 2 videos plus a lower third logo with it’s own additional video. The minute I add the first deform 3x when I add the second 3.5x to 4x as long. Tried both with and without GPU acceleration, GPU acceleration always helped shave some time off so I left it on. Video is h265 + acc in mp4 format rendering out to Sony AVC 1280×720 29.97, even tried changing video rendering quality from Best to Good and it shaved 30 seconds.

    Any help appreciated,
    Nick

Fair bit of processing going on with those two vfx added. You didn’t mention what graphics card you have but, since you are running with an i7 with GPU on and no crashes then I guess it must be fairly heavy duty.

And not sure why you might need the deform anyway, just for a 3d pip but sounds like you know what you’re doing. May just have to be a bit patient. Sorry can’t be more helpful.

No problem Phil, I have an AMD 7950, I did try messing around to get Intel Quick Sync working but nothing ever seemed to allow me to enable it and I’m not about to take my 7950 out. I do it more for the look than anything, just trying to be different and not have two boring squares during my podcast/vidcast. Guess I’ll just have to get my work done a bit faster so I can leave this to render over night.

    Thanks again,
    Nick
