    Issue #1:
I seem to be having a issue with regards to the coloring of my videos. I use FRAPS to record my gameplay and FRAPS is known to cause a bit of color imbalance with regards to what you’re actually seeing and with it being recorded.
I’ve been struggling for an entire day trying to figure out the correct color correction preset that allows my video to look very close or exactly the same as what I see when I play the game but I haven’t been successful although I have played around with the color curve and sharpening effect and they did a great job at making the video look better but it’s still not good enough.

As you can see in this screenshot which I used FRAPS to take, the quality looks very dull and blurry almost to a point where it looks bright. This is not the case with the source (which is the gameplay) since I play the game on Ultra settings, it looks much better than what I see on the screenshot.

    Issue #2:
The second problem I have with Sony Vegas Pro 12 is that when I render my video, the moment it gets to the uncompressed .avi file then it just hangs, I can see my CPU and GPU running 80% just until it reaches the uncompressed .avi which was sourced from FRAPS and I doubt this can be a hardware performance issue since I’m running an i7-2600 @3.4GHz, 8GB DDR3-1333 memory and the CUDA cores from my GTX 560. I usually get around this problem by converting my .avi file to .mp4 with a third-party converter but it does take up quite a bit of time.

Obviously that uncompressed .avi file is causing the problem. It’s been a long time since I worked with uncompressed video. Something in the system (hardware) is causing a bottleneck. What is the task manager showing when it hits the .avi file (performance tab)?

I seem to have the same problem with rendering .wmv at 720p

It would make sense that there’s a bottleneck but based on the activity with the CPU and GPU it seem that they’re not the cause of the bottleneck. I’m almost completely sure it’s the HDD since it’s a general 3.5′ Western Digital SATA II 3Gbps HDD.

But I seem to be having this same problem with rendering .wmv videos even after I’ve converted the uncompressed avi file to mp4 which seemed to work when I rendered it into mp4 format instead of wmv

Does your motherboard support SATAIII (6gb/s)? If so, those drives are cheap. I purchased a 1TB Seagate Barricuda (7200rpm) SATAIII drive 3 months ago for about $80 from NewEgg.

Is your Western Digital drive where your video files are stored, or is this the drive you’re trying to render to? If it’s your video drive, is Vegas installed on that same drive? How about the OS? Best performance is always to have your video clips on a separate drive, not residing with the software and OS.

It seems as though I’ve found the problem but I’m incapable of explaining it. I’ll try to concoct a solution
