  • Sony Vegas Pro 11 x64 v511 : Failed to Initialize Script host

I recently installed the latest version of Sony Vegas pro 11 64bit on my pc. When i execute the program everything seems to load in the splash screen until the last part where it tries to load some script or something similar and returns an error that read “Failed to initialize script host” without an error code.

How do i fix this? I really need Vegas to work badly, have deadlines for submissions !! Help 🙁

I have the same problem on build 511 (which is in English). Did fresh installs, re-install after I attempted an upgrade, which did the same thing.

“an error occurred starting Vega Pro”

“An argument was out of it’s legal range”

    ” ok Details>> ”

    “Failed to initialize script host”

Running Win7 Home Premium, SP1, 64 bit operating system.

Note: Build 371 works. The updated version, 511 does not, in any compatibility mode (Windows7, any SP of Vista, etc.). After uninstalling build 511 (and deleting all Sony folders and powering down) I re-installed the older version (build 371), which worked again. I will be refusing update notices and sticking to this version, until we can get this figured out.

If you can get an older version, attempt that. You may want to get a hold of Sony to see if you can get a lower build. If you purchased your current build, they should have no problem getting you an older version (build).

No need to contact Sony as all older versions can be found at https://download.sonymediasoftware.com/current/

yo dude i’m new to this forum, and have been having the same problem you guys have, failed to initialize script hoast, when loading vegas pro 9. i’ve followed and completed successfully all of the steps provided by the sony website, competing a clean re-installation. however the same error message comes up, i was wondering if it was because i had updated my vegas a while back, (which i can’t remember doing) i’m a bit of a computer novice, and would really appritiate it if you sent me instructions on how to go back to an old “build” what you guys were discussing – thanks

All suggestions to cure did not do a thing for me. I cleaned out everything for the third time and installed the “Trial Version” of Version 12. That worked OK. Maybe they will let me just keep 12 for no charge? I have a “ticket” in to the support guy.

ok 1st what you need to do is type frame in your search programs and files in your start menu and click to net frame work wizards and then also start the sony vegas, then click to fix an application on net wizards at the same time when sony vegas is starting, then it will ask you configure the framework by net application restore, press ok.

    hope this will work.
