Sony Vegas Pro 11 Keyframe Bug Issues
Posted by Kyle Balitz on December 26, 2011 at 5:58 pmSony Vegas Pro 11 is ok. But it does have quite a few bugs, and it crashes on me.
I could deal with the crashes, but I am having issues with Video FX Keyframe issues. The video is slowed down. But for some reason the timing of the keyframes does not save properly when I exit the program. The rest to the wrong timing. It’s annoying.
I just want to know if anyone else is having these issues. Otherwise I am just switching back to Vegas Pro 10.
Although I appreciate the fact 11 renders faster and in a smaller size, I cannot tolerate the fact it sort of messed up my vfx.
At least when I go back I don’t have to re-do my video.
Thank you.

December 26, 2011 at 9:50 pmYes I have the same issue with Video FX Keyframes. I submitted a report to Sony – please do so too, to put pressure on them to fix it. Note that 11.0, build 425, does not have this problem (although it has other bugs).

December 26, 2011 at 11:36 pmThank you for the response Jeff, Yes I will submit a report fix. Seeing even the lower build had problems of version 11, I think I will just stick with Vegas 10.
kudos,
Kyle

December 30, 2011 at 10:38 amWell, I have VP10e and it also has that phantom/missing keyframes problem. As I stated at my recent Dec. 29 thread at the Sony Vegas Pro Forum, keyframes are NOT an option in editing — even moderate editing depends on them. I’ve never had this problem before in v.6 or v.8. It’s due to the sloppy coding in the new FX GUI somehow. Maybe I’ll also submit a bug report though since I have v.10, I may be out of luck since we’re up to v.11 now.

December 31, 2011 at 1:12 amHi, yes I had ghost keyframe issues with 10, but what I found to fix that was to exit the VFX and re-enter it which has seemed to help. I recommend sticking with 10 thought 11 just has too much problems and I really can’t seem to get a decent video especially with the keyframe issues. Although I do like the fact 11 encodes and renders video much faster with a smaller size.

January 3, 2012 at 1:25 amNew to this site, but not new to editing. Took the plunge from SVMS9 to Sony Vegas Pro 11. Lotta audio problems, crashes, and the aforementioned keyframe issues. Specifically, I keyframe some aspect of video and the keyframes all crunch in tight to the begining of the first keyframe so that they play out within a 10th of a second instead of over 20 seconds. Keep re-doing it and it persists in its error. I will let Sony know and jump on that band wagon. Please inform me of the best way to accomplish that. The potential is great but the ptogram is frustrating because of errors.

January 3, 2012 at 1:41 amHi. Lol. Honestly I don’t think their is a way to fix the problem in 11. After spending an hour on trying to go back and forth from the VFX leaving and entering, that didn’t work. I’d suggest going back to 9 or 10. 10 doesn’t have as much issues, aside from ghost keyframes which can be fixed by leaving and entering. With 11, I got a crap load of crashes, which I did not get as much with 10. Because of these problems, I just uninstalled and went to the older version 10.

January 3, 2012 at 3:12 amHmm… can I eventually expect a patch from Sony. I’m sure Pro 10 had it’s bugs patched in the beginning. I don’t own 10 so I’d have to go back to the very limited home version. Plus what about the $400.00 to $799.95 you spent getting the program that you don’t use anymore. Sony has to have some responsibility here right? I would love to hear all comments regarding that subject. Not smiling! Eddie
