sony vegas plug ins
Hi new to the forum and editing a indie film – I need to create some fx looks to some scenes using some plug in effects I would think – first I’m not sure if basic sony vegas 5 has any of these I need. If not what should I get and how to do these cool?
Here’s a list of fx stuff for the film
glow on crucifix
light beam shooting out of crucifix
I have a flashback I want to look cooL
I NEED A PERSON TO GLOW
I have a dream sequence I want to look nice
I want to show a stream of something enter a person
maybe like see this blob withing them like infrared look
and also need it to pour out laterI’m going to need to create a sky at nigth with stars in it for a few secs
I have heard of spice filters for chroma warp
also step time plug in for ghosting and dreams – any info on all these?
what about pixelans plug ins/any help greatly apprecited

I just am finishing a one hour forty minute project. I used Magic Bullet extensively and everyone who saw it commented on the great looks.

use majic bullet for color grading. even the ones that come free with Vegas are pretty good. Vegas can also do light-rays, though that may not accomplish exactly what you want, it depends on the source video. If you want some very well-priced effects software go over to http://www.fxhome.com and check out their lineup. Its not AfterEffects by any means, but it offers easy-to-use visual effects creation at a far cheaper price.

The low-cost way is use Vegas. Duplicate your clip on another track, do a “glow” or “blur with color curves,” exaggerate what you want, then cookie cutter the area you want in and use the opacity slider to adjust to what you want – a combination of the two.
Another approach is download trial versions of Magic Bullet and apply the looks. Effects Lab Pro also has a trial version.
