Ok so I open up Sony Vegas 8.0 Platinum on my HP running Vista. Everything is good until I try to import any AVCHD media files, this is when the little blue circle comes up and starts rotating. Next I get the Not Responding message and am forced to close the program. No matter what I try have no luck whatsoever. I know it’s a RAM hog to do this but I’ve got pretty decent RAM for a 2.5 year old computer and we were able to run this program with the same footage I am trying to import on his HP desktop. He bought an external hard drive for it but his RAM is the same as mine and all that crud. When this happens I can still run my computer at normal speeds and my RAM doesn’t spike abnormally high plus I already know the program supports the format because it works for my friend AND Sony created AVCHD. Any thoughts at all because I have no solution for this problem and I’m no tech junkie so if this requires lots of tech work then please walk me through it in a dumbed down process. Thanks a lot I’m trying for a YouTube partnership so I really need this to work soon or I will lose my opportunity.

I’m having the same problem. My project “stopped” working at least 20 times before I could finish it. It never happened when I was using XP but now I’m using Windows7 32bit.
What’s more I can’t render my project for while trying to make an “architect widescreen mp2”.
Im thinking it may have something to do with the m2ts files but don’t know. Mine do have a GPS feature built in to the video.

Here’s a message I get after it stops rendering.

System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. —> System.ApplicationException: Render failed:

I’m posting a video to YouTube showing my problem. I hope somebody can help me out on there.
