Hi there – thanks for reading this and giving me response…

I’m quite a n00b regarding Vegas (and video editing) ;o) but I bought myself Movie Studio 9 (Platinum Pro Pack) and have been quite happy with it…

Only now to notice that the handy masking tools are not available :o(((( (i.e. “set anchor points”…) Which is quite a … bummer, because the “mask generators” in version 9 are n.o.t. very versatile tools…

So I would like to get an older (thus more “economic” version) of Vegas for that matter alone.

Now I only got an ACER webbook, which most likely will NOT meet system requirements of the Vegas Pro versions and like to know:

Would Sony Vegas 9 Platinum edition run smoothly along with Sony Vegas 8 Pro – on the same machine???

any helpful hints will be highly appreciated :o)

    Sure!

    I have 8.0c 32-bit, 9.0b 32-bit and 9.0b 64-bit installed right now.

I have had 5, 6, 7 and 8, and when i installed Vista over my XP I put them all on with Pro 8 64 and all worked perfectly, the media manager also worked between them and my Acid Pro 6. (oh and all versions of DVD Architect).

I know it is pedantic, but I always worry about BC (backwards compatibility) in old projects.
