Sony vegas Mantain same aspect Ration to all project
Hi.
I like to make a film, with multiple files recorded with different format’s and sometimes with different cameras.
Sometimes i want great slow motion and i record at 720p/120fps, sometimes i want great image and i record at 1080p/30fps
So i combine these multiple files in the same movie.
In vegas I like to make the “movie” style, and put the black bar’s 16:9 , in aspect ration, and i have a preset make and save, but when i apply my preset to these files 720p and 1080p the black bars stay at different possition.So the black bar’s stay in constant movement in the film.
How to avoid this ?Another thing, how to apply aspect ration to multiple files, can i create something like a “ajustment layer” like Adobe première pro to apply to all ?

I am assuming you are currently in a 16:9 project and are looking for something wider.
You might find the best way is to create a new video layer above the footage and create the black bars effect you are after in that layer.
Very easy to do using filler and then mask tool.
With your video footage beneath that you should have a unified look.
Although Vegas is probably the best NLE to use when using multiple clip sizes it it always better to keep them the same as much as possible.

How to avoid this ?”Don’t make black bars! Honestly. The black bars are not to be burned into your film. The black bars are created by the playback device because it doesn’t match the aspect ratio of your video. You should decide what resolution, frame rate, and aspect you want to deliver your film in, then set your project to be that resolution, frame rate, and aspect and edit your video so that it FILLS the screen (i.e., no black bars!). Then let the playback device worry about adding any black bars if it needs to.
If for some reason you need to deliver a version that is 4:3 with 16:9 black bars, then after your project is finished, drop the entire project into a master 4:3 project as a “nested project” and Vegas will add the black bars for you.

If you set your project up as I suggested, then you can open Pan/Crop on any event and right-click on the frame and select Match Output Aspect and your event will be cropped to perfectly match the rest of the project. This is why setting your project up correctly before you start editing is so important.
