Sony Vegas Keyframes???
Hi Guys!
I’m struggling to create a “typewriter effect”. I’ve discovered a brilliant tutorial and way to create it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57eE5BZv4P4
I run into the problem of the keyframing. I understand how it works, I use it often- however I don’t have the keyframe “position” bar when I open the media text generator. I only have it for the positioning of the text, which isn’t helpful.
I appreciate any help! This is a huge problem that has stumped me. If you know anything I would love to hear from you, and learn 🙂

I don’t understand? What do you mean? Is the sample what YOU are doing or what you’ve seen, and that’s what you WANT?
Do you have the Sync Timeline checked?

What is the Default Text pointed out in that Video? And what is that SONY Text Generated Media?
I’ve just done what you’ve asked in VP13, using SONY Legacy Text. No problems.

I want to animate my text through keyframes. The tutorial above depicts keyframes being present in the text/media generator, which looks to be extremely helpful:
When I go to my Sony Vegas I only see this-
I noticed he clicks an “Animate” button. I have an “Animate” drop-down menu, however it doesn’t give me freedom to keyframe or really customize anything.
Is there anyway to keyframe my text as I type, as seen in the tutorial? It would help me a lot. I’m running Sony Vegas Pro 12.
Any help is really appreciated! It goes a long way. Thank you again!

Joey your last Post was helpful. I’ve also just done it in Sony Title and Text. It works. I have KFs and I can add text at a KF, and it is animated.

Legacy text changed it, and it worked!! Thank you so much.
I originally used the standard “titles & text”, and didn’t try legacy. It fixed it.
Thank you so much! That helps a ton. I’m going to make a note to use legacy text in the future for custom animations like these.
One more question- what is a KF? I’m sorry, I don’t know.

Ah, do you mean you can’t SEE any further Controls?

My Bad! KF = Key Frame.
You can ALSO use T&T it does work.
