I’ve been working on a project in Sony Vegas 11 for a while and the program just became unusable. Every time I open my project, or any other project, it works for a few tasks. However, very quickly it goes to “not responding.” I did “analyze wait chain” and all it said was that the program was not responding. I have no idea what to do. Please help me fix this so I can finish my project.

Try uninstalling, then reinstall your Vegas 11… Dont
worry, it wont take long and all your personal settings will
    still be intact.
And if you recently installed anything else, uninstall it too
to see if its the one causing Vegas to be unstable.

Okay, I just uninstalled and re installed Vegas 11. Also I removed the plug-in. Neither of them worked. It seems to have fixed the programs performance with new other projects, but when I try to do simple things like delete clips in my project it freezes just as before. Is there something wrong with the project file?

Many projects can do this because of lag. Next time you open your project, try one of these:

1.) Go to Options > Preferences. Change the max RAM to a little higher value. If it’s at max, try this:

2.) Split your project into different sections (files) and render them separately; then recombine them in a new project and render that. This will help for the shear number of effects.
