    Hey there.

Im trying to make a movie with Sims 3. But after I have recorded my clips with the Sims 3 movie tool, and put them into Sony Vegas for editing, I get the biggesr graphic glitches I have ever seen, which makes the clip totally unwatchable.

I dont know why it acts like that. It works fine in Windows Movie Maker. But I rather wanna make my movie in Sony Vegas because its best for editing and make the movie exactly how I want it.

I have been adviced to use Fraps, but after trying it one time, I have given up on it.

I hope I can get some advice here. So please help me. 🙂

    Thanks in advance.

What format are you saving it in from your sims capture utility? Also, what is the capture utility you are using? It sounds like it is saving it in a format that Vegas does not like. If you could provide some more detail we could help you better.

One is VERY zoomed in (presumably the one you don’t like), while the other is VERY zoomed out. I don’t think anything can be concluded from that. Both images should be the same size and resolution to compare them properly.

Also, AVI doesn’t really identify the video format.

AVI is just a wrapper. You can put anything in it pretty much. It could be Xvid, it could be lagarith, it could be cineform or anything else for that matter.

Is there a way to locate the true media format behind these clips?

Download this and use it to check the file format. However, I would recommend you use FRAPS and look for a post on creativecow.net for Johnny Roy with the key word FRAPS…

    Or, just click here.
