Can someone tell me PLEASE (Sony Vegas 11). I have selected media generator Text Scroll left.
I select 12 point then paste in this text “This above all: to thine own self be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man. Farewell, my blessing season this in thee”
Can you tell me what steps I should take to get this scrolling ticket tape fashion along the bottom.

The text is all scrunched up – and nothing I try stretches it out.
Its OK if there are just a few words – but a lot (as in example and it just goes to pot)

Ahh, Hamlet Act 1 Scene 3…(a few rules of life) “Neither a borrower nor a lender be, For loan oft loses both itself and friend,” 😉

Yea, as you have seen anything that goes off the screen will not work with the built-in animation preset “Scroll Left”. You have to manually keyframe the animation by clicking the Animation button next to Location. I played with this a bit and found that if you set initial keyframe location of 2.42, 0.13 and an ending keyframe of -1.42, 0.13 it will scroll from left to right just above the bottom of the Title Safe Area.

In the words of Bill and Ted (or was it Abe) – Most Excellent.

Can I just ask – (and I may not understand the answer) but – are these x,y co-ordinates for the text? – Is it a text box that is created? And are you then specifying that the text should start at X=2.42 Y=0.13 (is that the first character of the text?) and end at x=-1.42 Y=0.13. If so what are the X and Y measured against – the bottom left of the screen?

It’s the coordinates of the middle of the text box. So you need to move the middle to those coordinates in order for the ends of the text to completely traverse the screen.

Yes, the bottom left of the screen is 0.0,0.0 and top right is 1.0,1.0. This means the coordinate system is relative to the screen so that it’s resolution independent (i.e., 0.25,0.25 is always 1/4 of the screen up and 1/4 of the screen to the right and 0.50,0.50 is always the center).
