  • Sony Vegas crashes when too many large files are in Project Media

Posted by Steve Pomeramtz on March 31, 2009 at 4:20 pm

I can’t render a project due to lack of memory (I have 4 gigs) no matter how small I make it. Even after cutting out all but 10 seconds of the show, the memory use stays up.

I finally figured out that my memory is being used by all the files in the project media folder. If I cut those out, the memory use goes down and it won’t crash… but I can’t cut it down enough on this project because when I get rid of the files, they go out of my project too!. Even if I only use a few seconds of a large (1 gig) mov file, the whole file seems to be in use for memory purposes.

What can I do? Can I prerender or something?

    please help.
