Sony Vegas Black to video cut strobe effect?
Id like to know how to make an effect of basically the video going from blackness to a video cut for a split second and then back to blackness.. like a strobe effect, but just i want the actual strobe to be the video cut. I have a video example to show what i mean. It’s difficult for me to explain.

Starting from 1:02 and ending at 1:07 the effect goes from blackness to a quick flash of the video and it is in sync with the gun shots. It’s supposed to give the effect of the muzzle flash lighting up the area, and essentially that is what i want to do but i want the effect to be in sync with something else and it is not going to have that many segments. The effect will only have like 10 markers within 30 seconds so there will be a lot of blackness if you know what i mean?
I’m sorry if i can’t explain it better but i explained it as thorough as i possibly can. Hopefully someone can help me accomplish this! Thanks you!

Why not lay black in a track above the main video and cut the black and separate it by a frame or two where you want the main video to show through. If you are cutting to sound, use the audio wave forms to help synch the gaps in the black.

Riight-click on an empty part of the track and select Insert/Remove Envelope | Fade to Color and then add envelope points to make any flashes you want. The easiest way is to make a timeline selection for the duration of the flash and then drag the envelope in up for white or down for black (or change the colors in your preferences).
