    Hello,
I’m working on a series of videos for work and am wondering if someone might be able to give me some advice about an issue I’m having. I brought in a series of clips, saved the file and closed it. When I reopened the file, certain audio and video had been replaced as if they were re-linked to other files. I’m not sure how it happened or how to undo it and even more so I fear that if I close the program again (as I’ve tried to do so multiple times) the problem will persist.

It’s weird. The first time only one person’s clips were impacted, the second time another persons…

Any expertise would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for your help and insight!

I did some digging and tried renaming the file names, then re-linking them when it asked me to point out where the missing file was…however, that isn’t working either.

This is a highly known bug in earlier versions of Vegas, the latest
version of Vegas is free of that issue.
    Which are you using?

    Hey Steve,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly – I’m using Sony Vegas 10. As I looked around on some forums I noticed that it seemed to be a very common issue. Perhaps our firm should upgrade to avoid these issues in the future. Has anyone found a work around for this in the older issues?

    Thanks

There are no workaround for versions 10 or 11,
Vegas 12 however is free of this issue, along with many other
improvements and the one your firm should definitely upgrade to.
