Sony Vegas 9.0 Rendering Issue
Hello, I am unsure what’s happening. I’ve been trying to render a video for a while now, but each time I attempt it, I get a different error – C++ runtime error, a simple crash or otherwise. I typically just use the “Upload to Youtube option” but this time it’s not working. It will render the first frames of the text slides but when it hits video clips it stops dead and crashes. I restarted and copy-pasted the timeline multiple times, did a fresh upload of video files to try again and even reprocessed some old videos to test if my graphics were okay. The video itself rendered into a very low-quality resolution using the less-than-perfect MP4 settings, but not anywhere near where I wanted it. I also tried rendering some raw video I took for this video and it started rendering frames, so I suspect something is causing it to stop dead here. Anyone else ever see this or can help?
I am using Windows Vista 64-bit version
Nvidia 250 GT

What you are experiencing always occurs due to the video format
you have on the timeline. This happens to me on several occasions, and
its always due to what i mention above, seeing that some of the footage
i work with derives from clients. But i would advise you to get off
Vista and unto windows 7 in the meantime.Steve Rhoden

Hello, I got it to render into WMV after some trial and error. I will be moving to Windows 7 soon, thanks – but may I ask, what is causing the actual error? And will it persist onto Windows 7?

I can guarantee you James, that upgrading to Windows 7
and Vegas 10.0e all that issue will be cleared up along with

I all of a sudden am having the same issue, first I think my machine did a windows update, then when going into Vegas platinum 9 I got an error message stating MSVCR71.dll was missing and it would not even open, a guru friend from an IT company re installed that and then it opens, it allows me to splice and edit, then when I go to render it usually stops around the 20% mark (sometimes as soon as 6% and even as high as 50%), it has completed a couple of them, but now not much at all, I even tried the video’s I did a week ago with no issue and they do the same thing, it does not matter if I am going to my hard drive or to DVD, both do the same, the first time it did it I stopped for the night came in the next morning and it worked fine, then it was 50-50 and now almost nothing will render. I typically do 5-8 minute Skydiving DVD’s and have 2 clients begging for their videos from last week and I can’t seem to do a thing about it, any help would be great!!!!
