Hi folks, i have an hour long clip that i want to keep as 1 clip but Sony Vegas pro 9 is splitting the clip into over 70 clips although the camera stays recording for the entire time. The Capture program reports no dropped frames. The clip ending is also very random and not realated to camera movement or camera flashes.

Is this a problem with the tape, camera heads or possibly an issue with the pc/hard drive? Will changing the ram buffer size or mpeg video quality in capture prefs effect this?

I have tried turning off ‘enable hdv scene detection’ in prefs with no effect.

Has anyone had a similar problem, Please help this is driving me mad…

Try capturing with HDVSplit instead as several users report that this free utility is much better.

This just started happening to me as well. Must be a new feature of Vegas Pro 9e

I’m very curious to hear how this works out, as I’m having a tough time myself getting clean captures. I’m going to try hdvsplit.

hdvslpit still working fine for me. I found cleaning the heads on the camera to be good practice when preventing this as well.
