Hi! I’m having an issue where my rolling credits are jittery. I’ve been reading a few online articles about what causes this and the solutions, but I can’t find those solutions in Sony Vegas 20. For example, many sources say to make sure my credits are rolling at a whole number scroll speed or “safe integer speed” (i.e. 3 pixels per frame instead of 3.185 pixels per frame), but I can’t find any way in Vegas to change the pixels per frame.

Another suggestion I read is don’t use pure white text color – put it at 60-80% opacity – but, again, I can’t find any way to change the text color of my rolling credits in Vegas.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

Interestingly enough, the jittery rolling credits is obvious in my ProRes render and the DCP I created for a festival screening. But online, like on Vimeo, the jitter is not there. So it’s almost like the jitter occurs in the highest quality renders but not the lower quality MP4s for online viewing. Not sure if there’s something to that.

    Thank you so much!

Julie, on the top menu check in “options,” “preferences” there is a tab called “deprecated features,” enable legacy text and any other feature you might also use. Relaunch Vegas Pro and you’ll see all the needed features in the “text” options, such as “feather.”

Hello! Thank you. I did almost every step you suggested, except I can’t find any “text” options or menu/drop-down/etc. in the Rolling Credits element. Should I be looking somewhere else? Thank you!

What I meant by “text” is, in your case, the rolling credits you’re using. Just above the timeline, click the tab “Media Generator” tab to create the text style you want to use in your project. Drag the text style you want and from there you’ll see the “effects” tab where you can adjust the feather.
