    i just downloaded the sony vegas 9 demo and i got some tapes i want to capture.
    but the problem is that it says please connect a device, and that i have did.
    i have read some other topics on same issue but nothing seems to help me.

    im using a DSR-PD100 but i wont recognize the device:-(

    any help will be apriciated.

    Are you are filming to tape. In HDV.

    yes im filming to the tape.
    and i play the tape when i try to syncronize.

    The PD 100 is a DVCAM camcorder so Vegas should see it if you hooked it up with a firewire cable and use the built-in video capture utility.

    You don’t need your camera playing, just got to capture choose dv, then your camera should sync to your computer.

    Please give us a detailed step-by-step list of everything you’re doing to connect the camcorder to Vegas.

    i put the camcorder to the pc via firewire to DV on the cam.
    the i set it on VTR on the power option, nothing happens. no usb connected sound or nothing.
    then i open vegas and push capture.
    the i use the first option DV and then it says please connect device.
    i hope this is good enough a description..

    Those are the correct steps so I’m not sure why it isn’t working for you.
    Go through the manual for the camcorder and make sure that there isn’t a special setting that you’ve overlooked.
    Do you have another camcorder that you can try (to confirm that capture does indeed work properly)?
