Hello creativecow, I’m new on this site and I really hope you can help me out. I’ve been trying to fix this issue for a couple of days now, but no success.
I’m tryng to render a project with 6 video layers, this is the image ( https://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/441/testac.png/ )
But it always stucks at 9 percent and gives me the “VEGAS HAS STOPPED WORKING” problem, it’s driving me crazy.

    This is the situation:

    Problem Description
    Application Name: Vegas Pro
    Application Version: Version 12.0 (Build 367) 64-bit
    Problem: Unmanaged Exception (0xc0000005)
    Fault Module: C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas Pro 12.0\OFX Video Plug-Ins\Vfx1.ofx.bundle\Contents\Win64\Vfx1.ofx
    Fault Address: 0x000000002E6E6C70
    Fault Offset: 0x0000000000306C70

    Fault Process Details
    Process Path: C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas Pro 12.0\vegas120.exe
    Process Version: Version 12.0 (Build 367) 64-bit
    Process Description: Vegas Pro
Process Image Date: 2012-09-14 (Fri Sep 14) 16:31:36

So i’m guessing is some kind of plugin, does anybody knows which one or whay is causing this issue?
I hope you can help me, greetings from argentina!

A couple of questions … what format is the media on your timeline (are there different types of media)…. have you applied effects to any media, if so what effects…. what format are you rendering to?

Also, for starters, are the project properties set to the media you have on the timeline (assuming most or all are one type?)

Windows 7 Pro64, i7 CPU, 16GB RAM, SSD boot drive, GTX 570 Graphics, Vegas Pro 12

Okey I solved this problem checking out every single fx and transition applied to the layers. It was a “linear wipe” transition the responsible for this issue. Thanks to both who replied, by the way I was working with all uncompressed avis, and rendering to also uncompressed avi. Project properties were settled correctly. Too many effects and transitions may be the cause for one transition to fail while rendering sometimes, because I’ve tried rendering with the one which caused the problem and it works fine.
    Anyway thanks, greetings.

    Tomas.

what I did learn using Vegas is that GPU rendering is causing more headaches than benefits, specially for 3rd party plugins, you need to test effects one at a time or combined with others, they are so expensive compared to the poor GPU compatibility and stability, not everyone can afford a Quadro at home, and even with Quadro you have issues with most plugins and GPU acceleration.
