You’ve got a Fault coming from something called “PresentationCore” from “NativeImages”? Ring any bells? Are you using any graphics that could be choking Vegas?

Hi Sam;

Some questions:

* Does it happen no matter what the source material?
* What are the project properties?
* what are the specs of your system and video card?
* Does it happen when all GPU acceleration is disabled?
* Does it happen regardless of the rendering template?

Also, submit a support ticket to Sony Creative ASAP – they take forever to respond sometimes, so best to get that started right away.

I dont know about choking it. But I have a Intel(R) Core (TM) i7-4700 MQ CPU @2.40 GHZ

They have nothing to do with the properties i can say that. The CPU when i turn it off it still does it. Yea it happens regardless but the only time when it renders is when i press ctrl + shift when it is starting up then it renders, but i have to keep doing it when ever it doesnt render

Sam, the C:\Windows\assembly\NativeImages_v2.0.50727_64\PresentationCore is part of the .net subsystem.

For years I refered to .net as .nyet – just say no. But it has its hooks into everything. Vegas uses it.

I have found that sometimes different versions of .net step on each other. Have you by any chance installed old software recently on your computer, something that might have stepped on the version of .net that Vegas likes?

Are you implying that as you have got a more than adequate system, then Vegas should be able to handle all that is placed inside it? – Wrong! I’ve read of systems beefier than yours that have been choked, and it is because Vegas is such a “Good Soldier” that it will attempt and attempt and keep ON attempting to do what you ask of it. And guess what, ultimately the system suffers – and that, right there, is what you are experiencing, and until another person comes here and can provide another/better reason for why ( I’m always willing to learn!) I’ll say again – it’s the Media, not your system and not Vegas that is at the centre of this issue. Look, other NLEs would have by now have given you a bland “Can not import Media” warning, picked up their skirts and gone home! No, your system sounds good. Vegas is good. Try and attempt to make the Media comply with what Vegas CAN deal with. Sure, there could be something more fatal than what I am saying, be pragmatic: Give Vegas a chance first, if it still fails then look elsewhere for a solution. Your experience is similar, not the same, where one of our colleagues is trying/attempting to get through the BLACK colour space understanding, and THEN deliver to, whatever . . . . You’re experience is about the FRONT end and getting the media to play nice, the BLACK issue is about making BLACK Media comply with the project, is all of a much of the same issue. Know the tools and know the materials.

Now, it’s your choice: DON’T track down the Media that is choking you getting to your creativity or DO. It’s up to you.

If Vegas has a failing it is this: It tries too hard to ingest what you throw at it. Once I/we/you recognise this and meet Vegas halfway then this NLE will out perform your expectations. Well, not so grandiose, but you get me drift…..

Hey guys I am new to all this and I recently downloaded Sony Vegas Movie Platinum and upon start up I get this error message:
