Sony Vegas 12 64-bit – MP4 container + AAC ??? Can Vegas perform well?
Hey everyone!
I’m coming here to ask for some help if you don’t mind; having trouble to optimize rendering quality in Vegas Pro 12 64-bit PC…
I’m not really a video guy, so apologize my ignorance in this field 🙂
I have more than 100 videos to compress with dedicated Audio works; Vegas could be pretty useful as I could use the Batch Rendering function.
Thing is, result is not good at all compare to a Freeware (MediaCoder) with which I can’t use Batch functions (have to mix also all Audio tracks within a Video). The format I MUST have for my output (for an iPad video game project)
VIDEO
– Container = mp4
– Format = H.264
– Frame size = 1280×720
– fps = 30
– Average bps = 1,000,000AUDIO
– aac
– 96kbps
– sample rate = 22,050
– bit depth = 16File duration = 2mn25ec
File size max = 19,000KBPlease keep in mind that it is impossible to change any of these!
So here is the deal:
– When I’m rendering through Vegas with MainConcept AVC/AAC or Sony AVC/MVC, I’m experiencing some dirty “pixelization” on movements & dark areas of the videoMy MainConcept AVC/AAC settings

– When I’m rendering through MediaCoder (Freeware) by using
I don’t have that much dirty “pixelization” anymore. But the color rendering is not as deep than through Vegas… (I wonder if just maybe everything looks darker with my Vegas process…)Of course, both rendering has been made with the same higher quality Video source file.
I spent a good amount of hours playing with different parameters; but seems Vegas 12 maybe doesn’t propose me the most efficient formats/encoder/codecs (mmmm, I couldn’t really define them though).
I tried to install codecs as mentioned on websites, using the AVI then force it to MP4; but doesn’t allow AAC though. So I can’t go this way.
Does anyone have any idea how I could improve this?
Would be such a pity if I can’t use my Vegas license and its batch function cause a freeware can perform better…But I believe I’m doing something wrong and/or my knowledge in this field are too limited…
Let me thank you in advance for your consideration and advises lah!
Keep the peach~
