  • Sony Vegas 11.0 Stablizer Problems with Build 701

    Hi everyone-

I upgraded my Vegas Pro 11.0 to the latest build (701) this afternoon, after which the stabilizer plug-in did not properly. Clips with the stabilizer applied were worse off than before in terms of stability, and there is a persistent jump in the video every second (exactly). This is particularly noticeable when there is panning stabilizing involved. Looking at the release notes from Sony, this build was supposed to fix this problem (which I never had anyway until now).

This problem occurs on both previous projects and a project created from scratch using the new build with no other plug-ins used. I’ve downgraded back to Build 683 for now and the problem is gone.

Has anyone else noticed this issue or have an issue? I’ve reinstalled the program several times (both upgrading and removing the application completely and installing the new build) but with no success. The new version of Vegas (12) that I am running a trial of is not having any problems.

    Thanks
    Kevin Skow

I never liked the integrated version of the stabilization, with its simplistic settings and the need to place it on the whole media clip (or make a subclip). I’ve been using Mercalli V2 and it works great and can be applied to any clip on the timeline. Oh, I just tried the integrated stabilizer and when I just tried to place that stabilized clip to the trimmer it crashed Vegas 12.

But why would you stabilize a clip then put it in the trimmer?
Shouldn’t the proper way be the other way around.

Yes, but shouldn’t I be able to place a clip in the trimmer at any time, without crashing? I often put clips in the trimmer to recover the audio that I didn’t want on the timeline previously. Or, maybe, to trim it again.

I see the exact same thing build 701 64 bit.
