    I’m on XP SP 3. Everything works great but when I try to burn a Blu-Ray on my new LG Blu-Ray burner, it keeps telling me I need to insert a Blu-Ray disc. I have brand new BD-R discs and can write to them with Explorer and LG’s BR tools etc. But SONY won’t recognize I’ve but a new disc in.

    Hi Bill;

    I’m not in front of my system right now. I had a sort of similar problem with an LG blu-ray burner that was fixed by this:

    ” …unchecking “Use Legacy Disk Drivers” in “Options/Preferences/CD Settings tab” fixed the problem for me. My LG Blu-ray drive is now seen by Vegas 10e’s “Tools/Burn Disc/Blu-ray Disc” dialog.

    I have not tried to actually burn a disc, so I don’t know whether changing that setting fixes one thing and breaks another.”

    The “Legacy” drivers are the ones built into Vegas. When the option is unchecked, Vegas passes the API calls to Windows, instead of using its own drivers to talk to the drive.

    Worth a shot …

    Steven,
    Thanks so much man. I hadn’t had a lot of time to research lately but you nailed my problem. It recognizes my BR Disc and, although I haven’t burned one yet, I’m good to go I’d bet. To think I’m a computer analyst at a Nuclear Power plant. Heaven help us. More like Homer Simpson I guess. This fixed both Vegas and DVD Architect.

    heh – hey I hope that you guys don’t use Windows to run the plant!

    Just stay focused “keep. the. plutonium. inside.”

    BTW I love nuclear power, wish we had more.
