    Hi,
Yes, this is very frustrating and happens to more people also.
When I generate a text, and I use the text tool, the first time it’s okay… the second time… CRASH… vegas close.
If I try to edit a generated text with the text tool CRASH…
    If I press pan/crop… CRASH… the same
The problem is with the text tool…
The last version of Vegas don’t solve the problem…
More people is having this issue, just read this:
    https://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/Forums/ShowMessage.asp?Forum=4&MessageID=786525

Is there any solution for this please?
    Thanks

I usually use the legacy text with no issues. I do remember using the new one by accident and it did crash, i didnt even know they made a new text tool. But now since I updated to the latest build it hasn’t crashed. So be sure you are at the latest build for V11, and if still crashes, try the legacy text.

I’m still using the legacy text tool as well. The new one just doesn’t seem to be stable. Let’s hope this gets fixed soon.

Using the legacy tool seems to work fine, it’s a problem of the new text tool, this problem is happening since Vegas 11 was released and there is no solution yet, so let’s hope they fix it soon 🙁

Just starting using SVP 11. How does one select the Legacy test Tool?

    Thanks,

[Stephen Crye] “Just starting using SVP 11. How does one select the Legacy test Tool?”

It’s listed in the generated media list at the bottom. So instead of using Insert Text Media… use Insert Generated Media… and select (Lagacy) Text from the list.

Ahhh … I only now remembered that I have *always* used the “Legacy text” generator … it was of such second-nature that I never thought about it until now.

    Thanks,

Well… the “Legacy Text” generator has changed. Up until Vegas Pro 10 it was an old implementation from Vegas Video 2.0 I beleive. In Vegas Pro 11.0 the legacy text is actually the Vegas Pro 10.0 version.

I tried repro’ing these crash reports the other night and couldn’t. Am I safe to assume that maybe the problem was corrected in more recent builds?

I have to confess that I’ve mostly been using 10 until recently, given some of the bugs in 11, and the very slow response time in the revised render menu which I find awfully annoying.

I’m using one of the third or fourth rebuilds, build 511 if memory serves. My time for debugging has been severely limited for about the last 6 months, in fact, and on my laptop I still haven’t even managed to get a clean install of Vegas 11, and am still using 9 there. My main desktop machine has 11 installed, but it’s on its last legs, and probably needs a total rebuild. Once my daughter finishes high school in the coming weeks I hope to have more time and start finishing a few projects that have been on hold for the last year or so.

Mike just posted an alert that yet another SVP 11 update is out!

Don’t feel bad about using SVP 10 – I sat on my SVP 11 until last week, and will not use it for critical projects for a while. But, have been playing with it on some junk projects.

One thing I don’t like as far as look and feel is the Render menus – yuk. Why coders have to change things just to change them is beyond me.
