Sony Vegas 10 Laying out tracks using media timecode
Hi, Can you please help.
Ive upgraded to Sony Vegas 10.
I video weddings and use multi cameras.
When I lay out my tracks using media time code, it does lay them out but each clip in its own track.
with a hundred plus tracks it looks like the clips form a set of stairs.
Im sure I read somewhere, prior to using vegas 10, that you need to name your clips. I cant find where I read about it, Though I feel they are named and numbered.
Do you know how to fix this problem.

I’m sorry but I didnt understand much of that thread, especially the .cs script part.
In all the sony vegas pro programs Ive used in the past ( up to Sony Vegas Pro 9 ) Ive simply highlighted the clips I want, then click Tools – Multicamera – Lay out tracks using Media Timecode.
The clips have been laid out in one track as wanted, then repeat the process with clips from the second camera and all the clips have been laid out in another track.
Generally just needing a slight adjustment and both tracks are in sync.
Sony Vegas Pro 10 will just put one clip in each track there for if trying to lay out 100 clips you end up with 100 tracks -

The Tape Name needs to be the same. Then Vegas Pro 10 will layout the media on the same track. You can set the tape name in the media pool or in the properties window of each clip.

Thanks John, Ive only just got around to trying this as I edited the last wedding in vegas 9. ( I needed to get on with it imediately)
It does work when I rename the tape names but I am so confused though.
When I use 2 cameras at a large wedding I can have over 300 clips.
When I capture the video from each camera I give them each a tape name, yet it dosnt show up in each clips properties.

I tried everyway I could think of to rename all the clips tape names at once but it seems I have to rename every clip individualy.
You mention media pool. Ive searched google and it seems there is a media pool tab yet I dont have such a tab, and if I did, could I rename all the clips tape names together.
As my tracks get laid out perfectly using media time code in sony vegas 9, it seems Ive wasted a lot of time and money in upgrading to 10.
Im sure there is something Ive overlooked.
Do you have anymore advice for me?
