Sony Vegas 10 and Waves VST effects
Everytime I update to a new computer I have to jump through these hoops/growing pains. Its worth it in the end, but right now its kicking my tail.
Just updated to a nice new HP laptop. Windows 8 (64bit). I think all the other specs are irrelevant to this discussion at this point. One point to make is that I was able to (somehow) accomplish this same setup on my Windows 7 (64 bit) desktop.
Here’s the problem: I’m running Sony Vegas 10. I wanting to use my Waves 5.0 plugins for audio. As you may know, this is a waveshell style VST plugin. When I go through the preferences > VST effects window in Vegas, it says the VST effects cannot be found. On an even older computer running XP(32 bit), I had Waves 5.0 in Vegas as directX plugins. I either need to get Waves going as VST or directX on my new laptop. I have no preference. Any help or experience would be greatly appreciated.
