Sony UWPV1 Input cable
I have a Sony UWPV1 radio mic set and am looking for an input cable so I can plug the transmitter into a pa and or a hand mic. Surely such a thing must exist. Any help in where to find one? If I want the flexability to either transmit the out from a pa or a handmic do I need 2 seperate leads.. The transmitter has a switch for line or mic..

Okay, first off…you want to use the wireless mic kit to take the sound OUT of the PA system, broadcast it wirelessly to the transmitter, and play/record it elsewhere? Is that correct?
If yes, then you’ll need one of these. That, and some XLR-TRS adapters will let you use the output from a mixer and put it INTO the wireless transmitter.
If not, then you need to explain yourself more clearly.

Im not familiar with the gear concerned, but if it has a mic line switch on the tx then youre well on the way. Just get a female xlr, some suitable cable and whatever socket goes INTO the tx, and solder one together. easy
PeterOR you can buy one ready made from someone else who did the work and pay about 4 times as much as the bits cost.

Just googled it. Its a perfectly normal 3.5 mm locking jack. Nowt flash.
Just need to adhere to the xlr norm of 1 screen 2 hot 3 cold and go TRS on the jack where T is 2 R is 3 and S is 1. Should be 5 min job.

I recall that the previous generation of that Sony wireless system (the purple plastic ones), some people had trouble adapting the 3.5mm connector on it. Sony built the system in such a way that a physical limitation prevented a normal connector to line up properly. I think it could be done, but the chances of it staying put and being reliable were slim.
Kind of like the screw-on 1/4″ adapter on all of our MDR-7506 headphones. If you lose the proprietary adapter Sony provides you with, most other 1/4″ to 1/8″ adapters cannot make a secure connection.
I’m a bit out of the loop with this current Sony wireless system, but I would bet a handful of nickles that adapting it isn’t as easy as you’d hope.

No, you buy a locking jack. Theyre a perfectly normal product available from any pro audio specialist (but dont expect to see them on the highstreet.

Hi.. Thanks for the input.. Yes I would like to do as you have guessed. But I would also like to be able to plug in a powered hand held microphone. I know with the sennheiser G2 this was possible but I am not sure about the sony’s. I did get a cable today that seems to allow me to transmit the signal from a pa or mixer but it does not work with my powered hand held mic.
