Sony PVW – 2800 Dropping frames/timecode Problems…
Hi,
I am using a Sony PVW-2800 deck. And no matter what, insert edit or Assemble edit, if I try to drop in footage to fix a spot on the tape, it seems like the deck will insert about 2 frames of black. So it isn’t cutting in exactly on the correct frame. It’s basically making insert editing useless. So instead of being able to correct, let’s say a mis-spelling that’s only on 7 seconds of tape, I have to re-dump the whole program, in order not to have any break in the timecode or drop-outs. I totally need some help! It’s not that big of a deal when you have plenty of time, but when you realize what could have taken you 15 minutes, is now taking 2 hours and keeping you at work late, you realize it’s pretty important. I have done a little research, and although I haven’t found anyone with this problem, I’m thinking it may have to do with the “timecode” heads or the timecode heads being mis-aligned. Do either of those things sound familiar.Avid Media Composer Adrenaline
