  • Sony PVW – 2800 Dropping frames/timecode Problems…

    Hi,
I am using a Sony PVW-2800 deck. And no matter what, insert edit or Assemble edit, if I try to drop in footage to fix a spot on the tape, it seems like the deck will insert about 2 frames of black. So it isn’t cutting in exactly on the correct frame. It’s basically making insert editing useless. So instead of being able to correct, let’s say a mis-spelling that’s only on 7 seconds of tape, I have to re-dump the whole program, in order not to have any break in the timecode or drop-outs. I totally need some help! It’s not that big of a deal when you have plenty of time, but when you realize what could have taken you 15 minutes, is now taking 2 hours and keeping you at work late, you realize it’s pretty important. I have done a little research, and although I haven’t found anyone with this problem, I’m thinking it may have to do with the “timecode” heads or the timecode heads being mis-aligned. Do either of those things sound familiar.

If you have any questions about my set-up please don’t hesitate to ask.

Thank you for for any help you can provide.

Jessee, I never had a problem inserting with other Avids. Adrenalinehas a way of making easy things hard.
I too have resorted to just laying off the whole show again. Same deck, same Adrenaline.
Maybe we should start billing Avid for all the hours we are having to work unbilled.
at least until Adreanline is ready for release.

hahahahaha, I agree. I have already cleaned the heads on the deck thinking that was the problem. Nope, still happening. So, then I thought I would switch decks, still getting the same problem. It is definitely Adrenaline. I totally need help with this. It’s killing my work flow!
