  • Sony pvm montitor- is mine now dead?

    Hello,
I have a sony pvm 1954Q video. I’m having issues with the underscan, there is distortion in each corner on the frame. It is OK full screen but goes wobbly in underscan mode.
Is this something that a servicing can likely fix? Or as its discontinued its unlikely? Any hope?

    Thankyou..

Of course you can have it serviced.

They stopped building the ’65 Mustang, but you can still have them worked-on. 😉

    haha…your probably right.
I suppose I was thinking that as parts are probably no longer made maybe its a gonner. But yeah, I’ll find a guy to take it too see what he says. Really hope its not going to cost an arm and a leg.
Its also a bit soft on the picture as well. Needs some TLC.

[seamus] “Its also a bit soft on the picture as well.”

Yes, that makes sense with the “shrunken” under-scan.

Sounds like a weak Power Supply to me.

ok thats interesting. Because I’m in Australia with 240v and its an american 110 volt monitor. So there is the power converter for it.
I’ll look into that as well as a source of problems. Cheers
