Hi everyone, this is my first post. So please forgive me for any mistakes in writing the post.

Can I just explain the issues I have, and hopefully someone can help me please!!

I recently sold my Sony z5p HDV. I was shooting in 1440×1080 24p. No issues. Burning to HQ DVD & BluRays no problem.

I have just purchased the Sony NX5. I have, read the manual and searched the internet for hours to see what I am doing wrong, but no luck. Now I am doubting the NX5 itself!?

    Issues:
    1. It seems the auto-focus is not as sharp when I shoot in 24p, it takes time to focus on a subject – Average lighting conditions (in a room single ceiling light on) (Auto Zoom)

    2. Focus seems to be slightly faster when selected 50i for some reason? (Auto Zoom)

    3. Gain seems more obvious in this NX5 than it did in the Z5. Auto settings.

    3. What would be the best settings usage would be for weddings, parties and charity functions. I want the best quality for HQ DVD and BluRays.

Can someone please help me out…

I don’t have any experience with this camera. I would shoot full 1080 p, not 1440.
