  Sony HVR Z7U camera

  i just purchased the Z7U after years of using the Z1U and I have a few questions for a more experienced user:
  1. My manual zoom ring is VERY different from the Z1 and I’m finding it difficult to control my manual zooms. The Z1 seemed to provide just enough resistance for smooth manual zooming whereas the Z7 is so sensitive that my manual zooms feel very jumpy. Anyone else experiencing this or is it just a matter of getting used to it?
  2. Can anyone make sense of the Picture Profile Settings? Specifically can anyone decode PP3 (pro color) which according to the manual is “example settings of pictures recorded by a professional shoulder camcorder with ITU709 gamma”.
  And, can anyone decode PP4 (pd color)– “example settings of pictures recorded by a professional handy camcorder with a PD gamma”.

  what is ITU709 gamma and what is PD gamma?
