  sony hvr-m25u deck compatibility

  We have a sony hvr-m25u deck and are looking to possibly buy the JVC GY-110U. I understand that JVC’s HDV codec is a little different than sony’s and I have heard that the manufactures don’t work well together. Has anyone used this deck with the JVC 110U? Will this sony deck be able to read the 720 24P HDV codec and capture it correctly? Or will we have to buy a new deck. As far as I can tell this deck can only record 1080i, does this mean it won’t be able to read 720 24P?
