SONY HVR 1500a w/ FC PRO
Hey guys!
I have a little problem. I have some shoots made with a Canon Eos 550 and I’ve decided to pass them to videotape with final cut. I put them in a sequence of 1080 codec apple prorres and after render all i wanted to Print to video. I’m using a SONY HVR 1500a and final cut w/ Aja Kona3 but after several tryings I’ve got no image or sound in my sony deck.
The settings are like this:
-Sequence preset 1080i 25fr apple prorres
-Device control: 422
-the VTR is connected via SDI from Aja Kona 3 deck to the HD/SD SDI input.
-The HVR 1500a is setted in HDSDI input mode.But it’s strange because when I started the Print to video, the video starts to playback on the computer but the VTR makes nothing.
I suppose that I have missed something on the way but i can’t figure it out.
If someone had used this SONY VTR w/ final cut and Kona 3 to export HD footage, please help me!
PS. When there’s no tape inside the vtr I can see the sequence images on the monitor of the HVR 1500a but when I insert the tape all i get is a black image.

What is your Easy Setup? Are you set to an AJA Kona 1080 / 25 ProRes preset? If not, you’re not feeding video to the VTR.
Are you able to monitor the output directly from the Kona 3 to a monitor and speakers? Do you see picture and hear sound?

If you are using HD-SDI and RS-422 you need to use “Edit to tape”. “Print to Video” is for firewire.
