I purchased (can still return) a SONY HDR-SR11 camcorder. I took some video, and tried to import it into Premiere Pro 2.0 but I get a message that the device is off line. How can I import the video into Premiere?

You can’t. It is AVCHD and PP does not support that. You need to convert the source material to MPEG2, demux and convert the audio from 5.1 to 2.0 WAV before importing. You may be better of with a HDV camera. In addition, if AVCHD support is coming (maybe in CS4??) it requires a beefy PC to handle that material.

    Thanks so much,

Can you suggest a camcorder that is on par with the HDR-SR11, supported by PP or P Elements and takes reasonably good stills (min. 5 mp)?
    Thanks,

Don’t know about the stills capability, but the Canon HV30 gets a good press.
