I have have been SD in FCP for years. Wonderful stuff, this. Now, the time has come to venture forth into the HD world. As a first step, I am going to be borrowing a Sony HDR-FX1 camera and doing some testing. Shooting should pose no problems. It is capturing that concerns me. Would some kind soul out yonder help a poor SD shooter/editor out and clue me in on some settings in FCP and/or the camera to ease the transition? I and my blood pressure thank you in advance. Sony HDR-FX1 >FCP 5 crossgrade (not intel).

moonface… I aint here to help you but give you a little confidence… I only JUST moved into FCP from PPro (never even owned an Apple before!). I had all the HDV gear so once I loaded up FCP (5.1.4) etc I plugged in the camera hit the required buttons and edited a job… and I haven’t read any manuals or had any formal training on FCP. The only thing I haven’t done yet is get the finished job back out to tape… so my point?… a seasoned user like you should be able to work it out nose sweat!

Thanks for the encouraging word, though I happen to occasionally enjoy my nose sweat.
