Sony FX1 FCE 4.01 Capture Issues
Yes my camera is old and yes I am really editing on FCE 4.01 and YES FCE is not recognizing my camera as an HDV deck.
I’m getting the following msg. from FCE “Unable to initialize HDV deck. Please make sure deck is connected and try again.”
Please help! Thanks!

Did the camera work before?
If you wree able to capture with the camera over FW in the past and suddenly it didn’t work with the same settings it is more likely that the FW output on the camera is dead. It is a known bottleneck with Sony consumer cameras. Reset the menue of the camera and try again. Try update the camera software.cheers
