Sony F3 SLog 444 vs PP SLog 422
I just bought an F3 used without the SLog upgrade… I have the current firmware that
has the SLog option under the Picture Profiles but that doesn’t
include the 444 output. I’m wondering if, given that I’m looking
to get the BEST possible images out of this camera, the RGB upgrade
is worth the cost (still around $800 plus the cost of a recorder)
OR if the PP SLog setting is so close as to not warrant the extra cost.In a nutshell: on a scale of 1-10 how big is the difference in image quality
going to be recorded SLog 444 vs PP SLog 422 (to BM Hyperdeck)?I’d try to test this myself but the cost to do so would be at least $500 in

Have I ‘stumped the band’ ?
Or is there just no way to know without
testing… and what circumstances other than my
own would’ve warranted that test? Did someone
in the back just say: haven’t you heard of 4K?Decisions often have to be made without empirical
