    I’m about to cut a feature that was shot on the Sony EX3. I’ve cut a feature on HDV (low budget like this). I’m worried about my workflow and I don’t want don’t have the time to make mistakes.

    The film was shot on the Sony EX3;
    there is 15 hours of footage;
    I’m cutting on an 8-core 3.2 GHz Mac Pro, 6GHz RAM;
    Final output to HDCam (I have access to an online suite for free)

    I know this is unusual, but I would like the ability to continue a dialogue with someone of experience in these matters during the edit.

    Thanks for reading,

    Paco

    I can recommend someone, but they do this sort of consulting for a living. But they are perhaps the best person you could talk to about this workflow, as they have done it quite a lot.

    e-mail me at comeback@mac.com if you’d like their contact info.

    They are located in the Los Angeles area.

    Thanks Shane for your assistance. Unfortuneately I don’t have any money to pay anyone. I’m not getting paid. It’s all for the love of trying to make a film when you don’t have anything resembling stars like Christian Bale threatening to kill your DP.

    I was hoping to find someone that could respond to some emails along the edit. I don’t want to keep spamming the forums with my queries.

    Hi Paco,
    I’m not an edit Guru, but I’m working with the Ex-1 since one year.
    I may help you a bit.
    Send me an e-m.
    If you have worked with HDV, nothing to fear XDCAM.
    Rafael
