Sony EX1/FCP/Blackmagic HD Extreme workflow !!!
I’ve bought a EX1 camera to upgrade the quality of my productions. I just finished my first ingest of the EX1 footage recorded on the new Hoodman SXS adapter cards that uses the cheap Class 6 SD Cards.
I’ll finish my work on a Betacam SP tape for broadcast. Since I’ve read seceral postings of recomended workflows, what should I use? I have a Quad dual core Macpro with 16 gigs of Ram.This are my questions:
Log & Transfer settings via FCP import EX XDCAM using the Sony Media Browser or FCP Log & Transfer?
Timeline settings in FCP (In which I can playback my timeline using my decklink card)?
Export project settings for archival of each program?

You want to use the EX Cam Transfer program.

I don’t have the BM cards but all you need to do is use the Decklink setting that matches your monitor or deck. If you are editing 1080 set the Audio/Video settings to a decklink 1080 setting.“Export project settings for archival of each program?”
I use the Apple Pro Rez codec for most of my masters and archives.Good Luck
