Sony EX1 eyepiece viewfinder broken
Hi,
since yesterday the viewfinder (eyepiece) of my EX1 just shows white. No more picture any more, although the LCD display of the cam works fine.
I guess the eyepiece is just broken. Has anyone an idea of this issue? Or knows how to repair it / what repair might cost?Your help is much appreciated. Thanks!

I got to replace one of those when a PA tipped the camera off the top of the tripod once. It’s a hoot but definitely a self-repair if you have any technical proficiency. I’d suggest opening that up and checking the connection of the tiny little ribbon cable that leads to the LCD first. Here’s a link to the exploded diagram. If the little LCD unit is bad, that’s still only a $154 on the parts list.
In our case, the entire rear viewfinder cabinet was broken/bent, so I got to replace pieces going all the way to the hinge on the frame. It’s not an overwhelming job if you’ve got some patience and really little screwdrivers!
