  • Sony EX Cards (SxS Cards) not compatable with MacBook Pro?

Posted by Sarah Himes on September 11, 2009 at 10:38 pm

I just purchased a MacBook Pro with an SxS port that came built in with it. I also purchased a Sony EX. I found out that the MacBook Pro is not compatible with these Sony SxS Cards. I also downloaded the plug-in thinking that was the problem. It is not. It does not even recognized the card and it wont let me eject it. What I need to know is do I have to update my system with easy updates or do I have to purchase a whole new card port?

You just need to download the latest SxS driver

    Thanks Sony.
This was a quick response and really appreciated.
I’ve done a quick test with ShotPut Pro and it works. Looks like we’re back in business.

    Hi,

I recently purchased a Sony Ex-3, however everytime I have try to dump the footage from the SxS Pro Card, it comes up on the desktop, double-click and only one folder with various files, such as: .xml,.edl & all the quicktime files are .mp4, and even with the software sony provided with the EX-3. I am using a macbook pro. I just cant import into FCP, or rid these .mp4 files, any help would be apprecitated.

    Thanks,

    Pete
